The agreement
Terms of hire
These are the terms you’re agreeing to when you book. We’ve tried to write them the way we’d explain them to you at the counter, because terms nobody can read protect nobody.
1. What the price covers
The rate you see includes a helmet in your size, third-party insurance, and delivery to where you’re staying anywhere in El Nido town, along with collection at the end. Nothing is added at handover.
Fuel isn’t included. Delivery outside El Nido town isn’t included either — ask us and we’ll quote you before you book.
Hires longer than a single period are charged at whichever combination of our day, week and month rates comes out cheapest for you. You’re never charged more for keeping a scooter slightly longer.
2. Your licence
You need a valid motorcycle licence, or an International Driving Permit that covers motorcycles. We check it when you collect or when we deliver.
If you can’t produce one we can’t hand over the scooter, and the booking ends there with nothing charged. We know that’s frustrating on the day. We do it because without the right licence your travel insurance won’t cover you in an accident, and that is a far worse outcome than a lost afternoon.
3. Paying, and the deposit
Nothing is charged when you book. You pay when you collect the scooter.
The deposit is ₱5,000 in cash, handed back to you when you return the scooter in the condition you got it. We don’t hold passports. You may need yours, and it isn’t ours to keep.
4. Changing or cancelling
Cancel free up to 48 hours before your pick-up time. Because nothing is charged until you collect, there’s nothing to refund — you simply tell us and it’s done.
Want to change your dates? Get in touch with your booking reference and we’ll move it if a scooter is free.
5. Looking after the scooter
Check the scooter over before you ride away — brakes, lights, tyres. Take it round the block. If anything isn’t right, say so then and we’ll fix it or swap it.
While it’s with you, please: wear the helmet, don’t ride under the influence, don’t carry more people than the scooter is built for, and don’t lend it to anyone whose licence doesn’t cover it. Only the person named on the booking is covered to ride it.
6. If something gets damaged
Scrapes happen. The deposit covers the small stuff. Anything larger we work out together with the actual repair bill in front of us — you’ll see what it cost, not a number we made up.
If you have an accident, or the scooter is stolen, tell us as soon as you safely can and report it to the police. The third-party insurance included in your rate covers injury or damage you cause to other people and their property. It does not cover damage to the scooter itself.
7. If we can’t supply the scooter
If a machine you booked isn’t available — a breakdown, a previous hirer returning late — we’ll offer you another one or cancel with nothing charged. We won’t leave you standing outside your hotel wondering.
8. Which law applies
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines. Nothing in them takes away rights you have under Philippine consumer law.
How we handle your details is covered separately in our privacy notice.
